Two local PA rental companies supplied GEO systems for the various stages of Rally Sweden, the first stage in the 2010 WRC. The setting was Karlstad, 300 km west of Stockholm, which filled with over 200,000 spectators, despite the cold snowy weather, down to -25 degrees C. It is the only true winter rally of the season, the first and only event to be held on gravel roads, covered with snow and ice. The special challenge of the frozen roads makes it one of the most popular among drivers.

At the official start, and at the first special stage – at a racetrack for trotting horses – there were NEXO GEO D systems for sound reinforcement of the announcements and music. Rallies often have a “Super Special Stage” (SSS) or “Spectator Stage.” These are timed stages, like standard special stages, but are held on short purpose-built tracks, often in outdoor stadiums, but occasionally in covered venues. Another special stage was held at a ski slope near the service area in Hagfors, some 85km north; this event was covered by a GEO S12 rig.

All the equipment and personnel were supplied by Ljus & Ljudmakaren from Säffle, and J & K Ljud & Ljus from Karlstad.
