STM M28 IS (LITERALLY) SOUND OF MUSIC

“The whole modular, scal able concept of NEXO’s new flagship STM (Scale Through Modularity) was very attractive to us, although, to be frank, we didn’t listen to the M28 before placing the order!  Our experiences with NEXO and the reputation of the brand made it an easy decision.”

Sound of Music’s opening order reflects the versatility of NEXO’s STM inventory.  The system is packaged as four groundstacks, each with 1x S118 sub-bass, 1x B112 bass, and 3x M28 main cabinets – a total of 20x loudspeaker units in all.

Sound of Music engineers can roll the cabinets in on their dollies, and use them in their groundstack configuration.  Or they can fly them in arrays. At a recent show, an Orchestral Spectacular for 30,000, Pochibko used barely half of his system.

“We put 6x M28s and 2x B112 Bass modules per side for the main hangs to cover an area 250m wide by 120m deep. It wasn’t rock’n’roll volume, but for classical and vocal intelligibility it’s a ridiculously small amount of PA for a ridiculously large number of people. Its capability astounded us! The client was concerned whilst we were setting up and asked where the rest of the PA was…until he heard it!”

Sash Pochibko was impressed by the completeness of the system, how it has been designed for ease of use by a rental operator. “The integration with the dedicated amp racks and the all logistical aspects – how we plan it, prep it and transport it as well as how we implement it – it just works.  Sonically, you set it up and turn it on and it sounds excellent, which very few systems do. NEXO never sounds like a PA system, more like a big hi-fi.”
