Spanning seventeen days in late spring, the Devizes Arts Festival has been enriching the cultural life of the Wiltshire, UK town since 1986, with a diverse programme of music, theatre, literary talks and comedy staged across a variety of local venues.

Entirely financed by ticket sales and local sponsors, a committed team of volunteer festival organisers works hard to achieve the highest possible level of production values, calling in Serenityaudio from nearby Chippenham to handle sound on the main stages.

For live music events at the Corn Exchange including a performance by leading British Americana artist Robert Vincent and his band, the team rigged left and right stacks of 3 x NEXO GEO M10 boxes on pairs of MSUB15s, with a pair of ultra-compact NEXO ID24s for front fills.

“We got some great comments from audience members after the show and from the band’s manager who complimented the mix and crystal clarity of the voices while enquiring about what system we were using” reports Serenityaudio owner Danny Kitainik.

“And the band were equally complimentary about the NEXO P12 monitors, saying it was the best on-stage sound they’d ever had.”

Over at the Town Hall and with the emphasis on the spoken word, a pair of NEXO P8s with NEXO ID24s as delays was all it took to ensure consistent speech intelligibility across the audience for a series of talks, workshops and comedy shows.

“My NEXO inventory doesn’t just deliver great sound, it also provides the flexibility to cover a whole range of events in our local area and beyond” says Danny. “And we always get great support from the NEXO team.”

Just a few days later, Danny took delivery of his new NEXO Alpha+ system and put it straight to work at Redstock, a popular family music festival in north Somerset, where the organiser’s opinion of Serenityaudio’s work was as emphatic as it was brief: “Top guys. Brilliant sound!”

“Alpha+ performed perfectly, straight out of the box, with clear vocals, deep bass and a perfectly balanced sound” continues Danny.

“With Alpha+, we can now service festival stages for around 2000 people with a stacking system that’s quick and easy to deploy, without having to fly a line array. It’s exactly what I need to expand the business without dramatically increasing fixed costs.”
