NEW ID SERIES MATCHED WITH GEO S12 IN THAI THEATRE

Nong Nooch is a 500-acre botanical park which has been pulling in the tourist crowds for 35 years.  Famous for its elephants and tigers as well as the rare plants in formal gardens, Nong Nooch is Pattaya’s theme park, delivering a full menu of entertainment to more than 500,000 visitors a year.

Replacing the original theatre, which was built in 1980, Nong Nooch’s superb new venue is nearly 12,000 sq m, and can accommodate audiences of 2000 for theatre and concert performances.  These cultural shows, including the elephants, required a fully-featured 5.1 surround sound system which was designed and installed by Fuzion Far East.

For the main PA, GEO S12 line array modules were chosen and installed in a L/C/R configuration, with the three clusters each containing 7x GEO S1210s plus a S1230. A total of 6x RS18s provide sub-bass, flown in two groups of three above the stage, between the GEO clusters.  The PA cabinets are powered by NXAMP4x4, six units in total, all fitted with NXDT104 cards to run over a Dante network.

At the front of stage, 4x ID24 units are providing frontfill, built into the stage to avoid a careless elephant step!  This is a Thai debut for these supercompact speakers, barely 300 mm wide, which are used in tandem with another new NEXO product, the DTD-TD Controller, which is delivering advanced speaker control processing in an affordable compact rack-mounting unit that can connect to the Dante network.

The DTD Controller is NEXO’s first digital controller to combine the sonic quality of the NXAMP plus compatibility with amplifiers from other manufacturers, in this case using a Camco D Power amplifier to drive the ID Series frontfills.
