Named after the historic Chinese name of Singapore’s iconic Clifford Pier, the Lantern is a stylish rooftop bar on the 6th floor of the five-star Fullerton Bay Hotel, with panoramic views of Marina Bay and the city skyline.
Partly open air and partly covered, the large terrace is surrounded by greenery creating a rooftop garden environment where guests can enjoy food and cocktails, spectacular sunsets and sets from resident and visiting DJs.
A recent upgrade to the sound system at the Lantern Bar called for consistent, high-quality audio coverage throughout the space, coupled with weather resistant reliability that would not compromise performance and a discreet visual presence that would maintain the venue’s luxury aesthetic.
Working with local SI partner Electro-Acoustics Systems Pte. Ltd. (EAS), the team at Yamaha Music Singapore proposed a NEXO system comprising speakers from the EN54-rated ePS Outdoor range, with compact ID Series speakers providing in fill in the seating zones.
“The system is carefully configured and tuned to provide even distribution of audio, eliminating hotspots and dead zones across the bar while complying with noise control requirements” reports Joseph Edward from the Professional Audio Product Sales and Marketing Division at Yamaha Singapore.
“From chill sunset sessions to high-energy evenings, the system adapts effortlessly, delivering clear vocals, tight bass, and immersive music.
“With outdoor-rated components, the system offers long-term reliability despite humidity, heat, and rain exposure and the speakers were integrated with minimal visual impact, preserving the luxurious and sophisticated design of the Lantern Bar.
“In premium hospitality venues, audio is not just background, it defines the atmosphere. This installation demonstrates how the right combination of technology and design can enhance brand perception and elevate overall guest experience.”
