Newly-constructed 850-seat municipal-use Theatre Gilles-Vigneault in St. Jerome, Quebec City, opens with a NEXO GEO S12 line array and ID24 speakers in its main auditorium, installed by XYZ Cultural Technology.
“NEXO has been included in the requirements list because the city of St-Jerome already had a similar NEXO system in a municipal theatre located at the local college,” states Michel Lapointe, Account Manager at XYZ. “The city wanted a new system that would be compatible. The customer at Theatre Gilles-Vigneault is very happy; the system sounds very natural.”
The three-level theatre includes 510 orchestra level seats, 20 lodge seats, 190 mezzanine seats, and 160 seats in the balcony. Primarily used for music, dance, comedy and drama productions, the NEXO system is configured with 16x NEXO GEO S1210 and 4x GEO S1230 line array modules. With a NEXO LS18 sub at the top of each L & R cluster, the main PA also uses a centre cluster of GEO S12s, plus 3x RS18 Ray Subs located in a central position under the stage, and 4x NEXO ID24 speakers for frontfill. In the racks are a Yamaha MRX7-D processor, 3x NXAMP4x4, and 3x NXAMP4x1 amplifiers, all running on a Dante network.
A Yamaha Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) system located in the foyer is connected to the theatre via Dante and is configured with a Yamaha MTX5-D processor, 6x Yamaha VSC4 speakers for the ceiling, 2x VXS5 surface mount speakers and 3x Yamaha DCP1V4S wall control panels. The CIS system was chosen for its Dante capabilities, unobtrusive style, and natural sound.
