The Darley Park Weekender held in late August was a big hit with residents of the UK city of Derby and featured performances from Britain’s Caribbean King of Pop Billy Ocean and X-Factor icons JLS, with support slots from Marti Pellow, Katrina of Katrina and the Waves, Appleton sisters Natalie and Nicole and the one and only Chesney Hawkes.
It was also somewhat of home-town gig for local production services and AV equipment hire specialists Sound of Music who worked alongside organisers Derby LIVE to deliver their largest NEXO deployment to date, using a total of 117 Nexo loudspeakers across the site.
“The main system comprised two hangs of NEXO GEO M12, with a further two GEO M12 delay hangs providing coverage for the extended audience area” reports System Designer and Company Director Mike Burwood.
“GEO M10 was used for audience out-fill duties, while NEXO Alpha+ provided infill coverage. Low-frequency reinforcement came from a formidable 36-box subwoofer array, delivering the scale, impact and headroom required for a major outdoor concert system.
“On stage, monitoring was provided by NEXO P15 wedges, with GEO M10 used for side fills.”
Commenting on the performance of the all-NEXO system, Mike says: “The system successfully delivered consistent coverage, clarity and headroom across the site throughout the weekend, while providing the scale and impact required for a varied programme of live performances.”
