Situated on a 100-hectare site less than 15 minutes from the central French city of Clermont-Ferrand, The Grande Halle d’Auvergne Exhibition Centre is notable for its exceptional architecture, using wood, glass and Volvic stone to blend in perfectly with the surrounding area against the stunning backdrop of the volcanoes of Auvergne.
Part of a total event space of 130726 m2 and located alongside the Zénith concert hall, one of the largest in France, is a more intimate auditorium for a seated audience of around 600. As part of an initiative to expand the use of this venue beyond corporate presentations to encompass concerts and one man shows, the venue management called in engineering, systems integration and digital services specialists the Snef Group to propose a new, more versatile sound system.
Working in collaboration with consultant Thierry Carrier and with support from the NEXO Engineering Support Team, a NEXO GEO M10 line array system was configured and ultimately deployed to great effect.

“This was a successful collaboration with NEXO, resulting in the installation of a GEO M10 system, comprised of four M1012s and one more steeply angled M1025 per side.
“A cluster of three L18 subwoofers in a cardioid configuration per side provides the system with impact and warmth and six NEXO ID 24s provide fill coverage at the front of the stage. The entire system is amplified by four NXAMPMk2 Powered TD Controllers.
“This audio system was upgraded after more than twenty years of operation of the previous system. Intelligibility and consistency are, of course, guaranteed for the most common, seminar-type uses. The musicality and finesse of this GEO M10 system, along with its ample reserves of power, now also allow for live events and open up new possibilities for the operator.”

Situé sur un site de 100 hectares à moins de 15 minutes de Clermont-Ferrand, le Parc Expositions la Grande Halle d’Auvergne se distingue par son architecture exceptionnelle dôtée de matériaux nobles mélangeant bois, verre et pierre de Volvic ; il fait écho au panorama des volcans d’Auvergne.
Au sein d’un espace événementiel total de 130 726 m², jouxtant la salle de concert Zénith, l’une des plus grandes de France, se trouve un auditorium plus intimiste pouvant accueillir environ 600 personnes assises. Dans le cadre d’une initiative visant à diversifier l’utilisation du lieu pour y inclure des concerts et des spectacles, la direction de la Grande Halle d’Auvergne a fait appel au Groupe Snef, spécialiste en ingénierie, intégration de systèmes et services numériques, afin de proposer un nouveau système de sonorisation plus polyvalent.
En collaboration avec le consultant Thierry Carrier et avec le soutien de l’équipe d’ingénierie de NEXO, un système line array NEXO GEO M10 a été configuré et déployé avec succès.

« Cette collaboration fructueuse avec NEXO a permis l’installation d’un système GEO M10, composé de quatre enceintes M1012 et d’une enceinte supplémentaire M1025 (plus inclinée) par côté.
Un cluster de trois caissons de graves L18 en configuration cardioïde par côté apporte impact et directivité au système, tandis que six enceintes NEXO ID24 assurent la couverture des premiers rangs. L’ensemble du système est amplifié par quatre contrôleurs TD amplifiés NXAMPMk2. »
« Ce système son a été modernisé après plus de vingt ans de service du système précédent. L’intelligibilité et la constance du son sont garanties pour les usages les plus courants, notamment lors de séminaires. La musicalité et la finesse de ce système GEO M10, associées à son importante puissance, offrent désormais de nouvelles possibilités à l’opérateur. »
