Ignacio Sanchez, from STAR was responsible for hanging the main system: 36x NEXO GEO T and 20x CD18 subs achieving amazing results. All the monitor cabinets were NEXO PS15 and the side fill used Alpha-e enclosures.
Unusually, the stage was sited in the middle of the long avenue, with the delay towers stretching out over 300 metres either side of the stage. An additional tower was needed near the stage to carry a separate PA to the crowd behind the stage : two arrays of 12x GEO S8, with bass frequencies delivered by 8x CD12s, performed so well that few people believed the powerful and deep bass could be coming from the compact CD12 subs.
The show needed six delay towers in total: spaced along the Paseo de la Reforma, each one 100 meters away from the next, each carrying 12x GeoD10 and 4x CD18. (Two different companies supplied the GEO D inventory for the delay towers, Tecnoson Espectaculos and Organización Musical Blanco y Negro.)
l the amplification was Camco; Vortex 6 for the GeoT, CD18 and CD12, Vortex 200 for the GeoD, Vortex 6 for the Alpha-e side fill, PS15 and Vortex 4 for some PS15. All the processing was handled by NX242s with ES4 extension cards.
Key engineers on the project included Sergio Zenteno and Ignacio Sanchez from Tecnoson Espectaculos, Juan Pablo Dominguez from Star and MGustavo Rojas from Blanco y Negro, all of whom were very enthusiastic and pleased with the results of the coverage, flexibility and power delivered by the different NEXO tangent array systems.
NEXO systems played a big role in the bicentennial celebrations around the country, appearing at concerts and live events with many different sound companies.
