Inspired by Fano’s Roman heritage and stunning oceanside setting, the Adriatic Sound Festival 2026 took place in June on a site at the Italian city’s airport.
In just its second year, the festival has become firmly established in Europe’s summer dance music event schedule, hosting 30,000 visitors for three days across House and Techno stages, with headliners this year including Miss Monique, Yousuke Yukimatsu, FISHER, Boris Brejcha, Artbat, Honey Dijon, and Sven Väth.
Sound for the Hangar (Techno) stage was provided once again by local production rental company Backstage.
“This year we added 6 more boxes to each line array, flying left and right hangs of 18 x NEXO STM M46 Main and B112 Bass modules side by side, with a further 6+6 boxes for a left side fill” reports Backstage Technical Manager Giacomo Balducci.
“A total of 64 x NEXO STM S118 subs were stacked in pairs across the front of the stage, with 27 x STM M28s used for front fills.”
For VIP visitors only, a ‘night before’ opening party at the Church of San Francesco, an ancient deconsecrated and roofless church in the historic centre of Fano, again featured NEXO sound, in this case stacks of the new Alpha+ hybrid source system which is rapidly gaining a reputation for punch, presence and clarity, particularly among DJs and EDM artists.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic 1990s NEXO Alpha design, Alpha+ is an ultra-powerful, long-throw, three-box FOH system that combines the benefits of line-source coupling with the ease of deployment typically associated with point-source loudspeakers.
“Along with small stacks of NEXO GEO M for DJ monitors, Alpha+ provided a powerful system that we could deploy quickly and easily in this historic setting, without the need to build obtrusive towers to fly a line array” continues Giacomo.
“Once again, our NEXO inventory gave us everything we needed to handle stages large and small.”
