NEXO DELIVERS EXCEPTIONAL SOUND TO INTERCONTINENTAL SANCTUARY COVE

Sitting by the banks of the Gold Coast’s Coomera River, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove is a world-class resort set amongst tropical paradise. Designed with precision and care, each area of the expansive retreat provides an elevated setting for indulgence, relaxation and events. The venue features 15 spaces catering to gatherings from business meetings to grand celebrations, headlined by its largest space, the versatile MacArthur’s Ballroom.

Recently receiving a completely upgraded audio system powered by NEXO’s P+ Series, the ballroom’s AV capability has been elevated to match the premium nature of the resort. With the guidance of dedicated on-site audio specialist Mitch Grant of AVPartners, the InterContinental’s upgrade centred around providing greater flexibility for its wide-ranging clientele.

Through a business model that pairs AV experts with venues to execute in-house service, AVPartners’ technicians integrate seamlessly with the InterContinental team to manage AV solutions locally for optimal results. Since taking on his role at Sanctuary Cove, Mitch has overseen audio system improvements to each venue space through the addition of industry-leading technologies. For the MacArthur’s Ballroom, a space embodying a distinguished, polished character, designed to host large-scale events of up to 500 attendees, Mitch explains that NEXO’s premier loudspeakers proved an ideal fit:

“The ballroom is a flexible space suited to everything from conferences and presentations to gala dinners and social events. The open-framed architecture, floor-to-ceiling French windows, an 18m tracked LED screen and statement chandeliers give the space a refined, high-end feel – and the audio solution needed to match that without compromising on technical performance. The brief was to deliver a clean and professional audio solution that integrated seamlessly with the ballroom’s architecture. We needed white, low-profile boxes that wouldn’t visually intrude on the space but still packed a punch. NEXO gave us exactly that: a system that looks smart in the room and delivers maximum impact for our clients.”

Notably powerful, yet durable and lightweight, a selection of NEXO’s P+ Series cabinets were deployed alongside ultra-compact ID24 speakers to supply a high level of SPL, exceptional clarity and coverage across the ballroom. As Mitch details, the combination has enriched the space with greater output capabilities and quality of sound:

“The system is centred around P10 cabinets positioned on the front bar, with P8 speakers used as rear fill to ensure smooth, even coverage. ID24 speakers run across the front as subtle near-fill, and the L15’s deliver tight, well-controlled low-end. Altogether, the system creates an immersive and intimate listening experience, perfectly balanced across the room without being visually dominant. The install has delivered consistent and trusted sound reinforcement, no matter the event. Whether it’s crystal-clear speech, playback with impact, or full band audio, the system continues to hit the mark. The P+ Series has elevated the venue offering: it’s reliable, rider-friendly, and has made a noticeable difference to the client and guest experience.”

Brought together by AVPartners, Mitch describes how the pairing of NEXO with the InterContinental- two brands widely recognised as hallmarks of quality within their respective domains- has yielded results that reinforce the premium status of each brand:

“We’ve always known NEXO to be a well-established brand with a strong reputation for reliability and sound quality. It felt like the right fit for this install, both from a performance perspective and a presentation point of view. We are extremely pleased with the system and its capabilities in the ballroom. As a popular venue here at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, we frequently work with returning clients, many of whom have commented that the AV upgrade in the space has been exceptional.”
