NEW AMPLIFIER RANGE TO PARTNER LATEST TDCONTROLLER

Showing for the first time at the ISE in Amsterdam are the DTDAMP4x0.7 and DTDAMP4x1.3, denominating 4-channel, 1U rack-mounting amps in 700 Watts and 1300 Watts models (4×4 Ohms).  Each unit weighs just 7.5Kg.

Both DTDAMP versions present:

  • High-efficiency Switch Mode power supply and Amplifier channel design
  • Channels can be independently bridged two by two
  • Four Inputs on XLR, four Outputs on SP-4
  • Extensive protection

Road-ready, rack-ready, the DTDAMP offers all the sensors and protection that are mandatory for a professional touring amplifier, such as mains over/under voltage, Over-voltage or DC output on each channel, short circuit etc.

The variable speed cooling system ensures a quiet and cool amplifier while the front to back cooling system ensures compatibility inside racks where both DTDAMP and NEXO’s high-spec NXAMP are used together in large installations.

The new range of DTDAMP 4-channel amps is the ideal companion for NEXO’s new DTD Controller; together they represent the perfect match for NEXO loudspeakers supported by the Controller, namely PS Series, GEO M6 and the new ID Series of ‘super-compacts’.  In a light 2U rack, the units provide input/output patch bay, processing and 5kW of power for mobile and fixed applications.

The DTD Controller is NEXO’s first digital controller to combine the sonic quality of the NXAMP plus compatibility with amplifiers from other manufacturers.  A processor that delivers advanced speaker control processing in a compact, rack-mounting device, this unit confers new affordability and accessibility on NEXO’s most popular loudspeaker products by connecting them to amplifiers of every size and scale.

There are two versions of the DTD Controller, one for touring and one for installation, each available with the option to add a Dante input.  Both Touring and Install versions are housed in the same low-depth rack-mount case with a universal power supply.  The Touring version has analogue input and output connectors (XLR and Speakon) on the front: the Install version has all the connectors on the back panel, and a mini-USB on the front, which can be used to update firmware and download new presets. Audio can be streamed directly from any computer or smartphone, for easy sound check or background music playback.

Connectivity is impressive.  The unit includes AES/EBU input (with sample rate converter from 44.1 to 96 KHz) on all versions as well as optional connectivity to the Dante™ network.

Typical applications will be bands, bars, DJs, small rental companies, etc, that want a compact and easy-to-use product that has a high standard of sound quality. The fact that the unit can be operated without a computer will appeal to such users.
