Ballpark Village is a sports-anchored, multi-phased mixed-use development venue close to Busch stadium, which hosts a variety of public and private events the entire year. The venue recently opened a new FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE! Summer Concert Series presented by local radio station 105.7 FM The Point.
Logic Systems Sound & Lighting (St. Louis) provided the sound reinforcement for the concert series. The main PA system consisted of 8x GEO S12 line array speakers per side, 8x RS18 subs, and 4x PS8s used for front fills. A Yamaha PM5D-RH digital audio console was used for monitors.
Performers included New Orleans natives Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, a hard-edged funk band that employs hip-hop beats, rock dynamics and improvisation in a jazz tradition. Greek Fire opened for New York-based Taking Back Sunday who delivered hits like «You’re So Last Summer» and «Liar».
“When selecting the PA for Ballpark Village’s new outdoor space, the NEXO GEO S12 provided the best versatility and sonic performance for the space and the rigging weight limits we were working with,” confirmed Brian Bird, Logic’s on-site sound engineer.
