The theatre is named for the celebrated 19th century singer Maurice Mac-Nab, a native of Vierzon. Now in its 12th season, this dynamic venue punches well above its weight, booking well-known artists and hosting an eclectic programme of classical music, variety, drama and musical theatre productions, contemporary dance and comedy. Technical Director Jean Marc Bondeux recently commissioned a new sound system, capable of handling such a diverse artistic menu.
XB Diffusion has given Theatre Mac-Nab a very versatile answer, a NEXO GEO S12 line array system that lives inside the auditorium for most of the year, but can be removed and taken outside for the theatre’s summer festival. The system deploys NEXO’s NXAMPs and Yamaha stageboxes to exploit the networking functionality of EtherSound.
For the house system, XB verified its design using NEXO’s NS-1 prediction and modelling software. The outcome was L and R hangs of GEO S12 (5x S1210 + 1x S1230 per side) with 2x RS15 subs a side. This part of the system is powered by 2x NXAMP4x4s. Additionally a pair of PS8 compact cabinets, serving as front and side fill, is powered by a NXAMP4x1, fitted with an ES-100 card.
XB Diffusion, based inOrleans, is a long-time NEXO user, with almost all the NEXO catalogue in its rental inventory, from GEO S8, S12 and GEO D to PS10 and 15 systems, supplemented by all NEXO sub-bass options.
