STM AND GEO LINE ARRAYS FOR RALLY OF 50,000

As tens of thousands of workers in Germany held a mass demonstration in the heart of Berlin, NEXO systems went into action to provide PA and stage entertainment for the huge live event.

With crowds gathering along the length of Berlin’s famous ‘Fanmeile’ in front of the Brandenburg Gate, the heart of the event was the rally organised by the IG Metall trade union, Germany’s largest.  The mass demonstration was attended by 50,000, demanding digital and environmental changes by companies to promote fairness for workers.

Audio rental provider acoustic NETWORK was appointed to handle the overall implementation of the extensive PA systems, stretching over more than a kilometre for the event, and with a very large stage at the top of the Fanmeile.

Working to a sound design by Felix Beckmann, acoustic NETWORK’s production managers Jaspar Vogel and Klaus-Peter Hornung drew on their NEXO inventory, using the new GEO M10 and GEO M12 mid-size line arrays, powered by NXAMP4x4 and 4x2Mk2 amplifiers running Dante networks, controlled by NEXO’s remote control app NeMo.

For the main stage, acoustic NETWORK provided 12 sets per side of STM M46+B112 modules, with a single M28 downfill beneath each array. Across the front of the stage, a line up of 24x STM S118 subs, augmented by a dozen RS cabinets, provided the subbass.  A combination of PS and GEO M modules were used for frontfill.

Speeches and calls to action were supported by a full schedule of live music from bands including Clueso, Berlin Boom Orchestra, Joris, Culcha Candela and Silly with AnNa R. and Julia Neigel.
