The Stade de Marrakech has been designed by by Sâd Benkirane and Gregotti Associati International primarily to host football matches. With capacity for more than 45,000, the venue is home to Kawkab Marrakech, and is one of the finest new stadia in north Africa.
Audio architecture in the new Marrakech ground draws on the successful formula used throughout France for the integration of an EtherSound-based mix of NEXO, Auvitran and Yamaha audio products, exploiting proven advantages of superior audio quality and speech intelligibility, flexibility and control, and real-time system supervision.
System integrator and AV contractor ENCOM of Morocco chose NEXO on the basis of the product range’s full compliance with the tender book specifications and also its success in high-profile sports venues inEurope.
38 clusters of NEXO’s GEO S line-array clusters have been deployed to create a 16-zone system, a total of 196x S1230 cabinets in total. These are powered by 16x NXAMP4x4 amplifiers, connected to the EtherSound network via NXES104 cards.
A Yamaha console and DME is connected to EtherSound via AuviTran AVY16-ES100 cards, and 4x pairs of AuviTran AVRed-ES100/Fo handle the EtherSound transport through redundant optical fiber links. 2xAuvitran AVNF49-ES provide supervision of the status of EtherSound connected devices
* System integrator SGM is responsible for installing a very similar specification SR system into the 45,000-capacity Stade Ibn Batouta in Tanger in the north ofMorocco, also showcasing the audio performance of GEO S12 tangent-array loudspeakers and NXAMPs.
