The Soapbox Race is a national race for amateur drivers, which is fueled by creativity and competitive fun – not to mention the need for speed. This unique non-motorized racing event challenges both experienced racers and amateurs alike to design and build outrageous, human-powered soapbox dream machines and compete against the clock in a downhill race.
Paez Audio e Iluminacion was the sound rental company chosen to support this interesting event. It was necessary to use four different sound reinforcement arrays, installing the system for the ramp zone and track.
Their primary goal was to resolve the difficulties in setting up the delay towers: Luis Paez chose 2x NEXO arrays of 10x GEO T for the main zones and 2 arrays of 6x GEOS8 to complete the far stands, with 1 array of 12x GEOS8 for a zone with an LED Screen.
Music with deep bass and clear defined dialogue was produced on cue, as every participating team had to do a musical routine just before starting up their own vehicle, when announcers located in the high part of the Ramp called out the details of the event .
Audience and organisers were happy because the coverage was perfect, the set up was easy and the time to hang the equipment was minimal.
