YesNo’s Neil Tiplady, Stomp’s technical director explained that he’d had his eye on the NEXO AlphaE system for some time. “We’d been renting a system for over four years, and the time had come to invest in our own equipment. I’ve come across many systems on our travels, and it was immediately apparent that the AlphaE represented everything we were looking for in terms of size and quality at a price we could afford. We got in touch with Marquee Audio who did the rest. Andy Huffer from Marquee and our chief sound engineer Mike Roberts sat down and worked out the spec together, and then Marquee came up with a system completely customised to our requirements including custom dollies and flightcasing.

“The NEXO is a godsend. Would you believe, it only takes up half the amount of space in the truck that our old system used to occupy, and of course, it’s so much lighter. Not only are the cabinets physically smaller, but we’ve got nowhere near as many as we used to have, which of course means few amplifiers as well. Tiplady continued, “The best thing about it, though, is its versatility. You can ground stack or fly it, including the subs, or a combination of the two in any configuration you want. The PS-10’s and 15’s act as side fills or balcony fills, which is particularly useful when we’re dealing with weight restrictions. In short we’ve got a system flexible enough to cope with any venue we are likely to play.

“The show is currently in France as part of a European tour that is due to be finishing in Moscow in May. Other Stomp shows include New York, one about to open in San Francisco and a second European show going out later this year.
