The Quito event is lucky to have a great venue – the demo area is set up at an old airport, so there were no noise restrictions and plenty of space to test system throw over long distances. Everyone took great care not to upset the active Cotopaxi volcano behind the demo area!
For the STM demonstration, the Mejor Sonido team flew 12x M28 per side, with 6x B112 arrayed behind each main line, and 26x subs groundstacked below. CD18 subs were used to cover the outside areas, with no delay applied.
“Everyone attending the demo was greatly surprised by the high SPL and the punch of the system,” explains Roberto Tschopp from NEXO LatAm. “With the luxury of space, we could appreciate the total spectrum at any arrival distance, and assess the quality of the system’s coverage of the audience area.”
NEXO’s presentation continued indoors, where so many questions were asked about the successful result of the simple sub set-up, that he changed the subject of his seminar – giving a ‘Sub-Array masterclass’, to cover the technical aspects of omni and cardioid operational modes, end fire versus NEXO cardioid, and other hot topics.
Thanks to Mejor Sonido for staging a great demo, and also for showing creativity and enterprise with a whole new selection of NEXO swag!
