NEXO TURNS BERLIN O2 ARENA INTO SUPERCLUB

Dec 2010 | News | Night Clubs | Legacy Systems | Germany

NEXO has rocked the Berlin dance festival with a serious GEO D and GEO S line array combination, supplied by PAM/events GmbH, which was responsible for the entire production.  Turning Berlin’s O2 Arena into one massive dance club, the WE ARE ONE event featured a stellar line-up of international DJs from Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren, to British electro-duo Underworld and Guiseppe Ottaviani.

Incredibly, PAM/events set up the system for We Are One in just a day, starting build up at 4am. The main FOH system deployed 42x GEO D10 units with GEO SUBs at the top of the arrays.  A secondary system and delay was provided by 52x GEO S8 compact line array cabinets.  Ground-stacked were a total of 32x RS18 subbass.  The whole system was routed and controlled by Yamaha DME64.

Berlin-based PAM/events is a long-time NEXO user, and holds a substantial inventory of different GEO line array designs.  Thomas Moritz, one of the owners and business manager, has known Reinhard Steger from NEXO distributor CAMCO for more than 20 years, “since the good old days when Berlin was an island, and no matter what direction you faced, it was always East!

“During this time, we were competitors in Berlin; Reinhard was offering NEXO equipment while we managed quite successfully with Martin Audio. He started to sell NEXO, and in 2003, we took it on board at PAM/events, starting with a complete GEO S8 system  We’ve invested more and more in NEXO equipment, and now we are the owner and user of GEO S12 and GEO D systems, combined with RS15 and RS18 subs. Additionally, the new PSR2 series cabinets are also listed for rental at our company. We are highly pleased with these investments and with the advice and support we receive from Reinhard on NEXO’s behalf.”
