GEO S and PS models are the choice for this unusual stage set-up at a new cultural initiative in Poland.
Health and safety restrictions are producing innovative solutions in the cultural performance world. This is a great example from Poland, where jazz giants Leszek Możdżer and the Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet have inaugurated an initiative called Arena Kultury. This will be a series of events, concerts, exhibitions and fairs, staged at the Polsat Plus Arena in Gdańsk.
Polsat Plus is a stadium that would normally accommodate 40,000 spectators. With its new stage, built close to the grandstands, a special intimate ‘venue’ has been created, for less than 800 people to enjoy a safe, socially-distanced concert performance.
Proper production values have been observed. Audio rental company Art Music from Gdynia has provided a full complement of NEXO main PA and monitoring systems, using a multi-model design to deliver sound to this unusual audience area. For the main PA, the system uses 11x NEXO GEO S12 line array modules per side, flying close to lines of 8x GEO S8 compact modules for outfill. A total of 8x CD18 subbass cabinets are groundstacked left and right of the stage. NEXO’s GEO M6 compact line array modules are used for centre fill and front fill.
With such a widespread audience area, there is a need for far outfill, and for this purpose, Art Music is supplying PS15-R2s, more of which can be found in a special VIP zone. PS Series cabinets are also used onstage for monitoring.
